What to Expect

What to Expect

First of all, we’re glad you’re interested in learning more about Real Life Church and what to expect if you decide to join us this Sunday! We know that going somewhere brand new can be a bit scary, whether it’s your first-ever church or you’re moving from another church. We know you may have plenty of questions about your new church home, so we designed this page with you in mind! We want to put you at ease by giving you a glimpse of what to expect here at Real Life. If you have any other questions about Real Life Church, please email us, and we’ll be happy to help any way we can: office@seekreallife.com.

What is the experience like at Real Life?

Our desire is to provide an opportunity to connect as a community of believers in Jesus. At Real Life, people at all life stages can come together and worship our worthy God and open our hearts to the change He desires to make in us. Our goal is to help our congregation experience the true, total, and radical life change that only He brings, which pours into and flows out of our lives into the world. If we had a motto, it might be that we want to change our congregation into “lifesavers and world-changers.” Yes, you too!

We believe that the community God brings together each Sunday is not formed by accident! Every Sunday is a divinely appointed opportunity for us to gather together and be a part of what God is doing!

I’ve never been to church before. Can I come? Why should I try Real Life?

We don’t call it Real Life Church for nothing – real life extends beyond Sunday mornings. It’s not always easy to remember Christ when you’re not at church, but it is important, and we won’t make you try to get through the rest of the week all alone. Spiritual support and community are accessible to you all week though Life Groups, in which we learn more about the Bible and the living God in the comfortable setting of like-minded Life Group members. You can learn more about Life Groups here. We can also set you up with volunteer opportunities, church events, and ways to serve within the church that will make you feel more at home at Real Life and more in touch with God and His purpose for you.

What should I wear?

We want you to come as you are. On any given Sunday, you’ll see that people come dressed in anything from t-shirts and shorts to “business casual.” Wear whatever – we’ll be happy to see you no matter what!

What about my kids?

Kidz Life is our ministry for kids from birth through 5th grade. We have Babies Life for infants, Wee Kidz for 18-month to two-year-olds, Lil’ K for three-year to five year-olds, and 1st-grade through 5th-grade are in Xtreme Kidz.

Xtreme Kidz meets downstairs and the rest of the kidz meet upstairs. Feel free to ask anyone for directions when you arrive – we’ll be glad to help!

Kidz Life is a safe, caring, and fun place where our goal is to help kids experience real life through a relationship with God and others. We seek to capture children’s minds with fun games and lessons so God can capture their hearts with lasting truth. We meet during Sunday morning services. Questions? Please contact Pastor Shelley: pastorshelley@seekreallife.com.

Student Life, for students in 6th through 12th grades, meets on Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm You’ll find more information here: https://seekreallife.com/rlsl/

What if my life’s a mess?

We want you to come as you are on the inside, too! We aren’t perfect people, and we don’t try to be. If you sometimes feel like you’re a mess, we want you to come to Real Life to start seeking the fulfillment and joyful purpose that only a life with Christ can provide. Real Life Church isn’t a place where perfect people gather that have it all together – this is a place where people can run to who desperately desire to meet with the living God!

God is at work in all of us and He desires to work in you, too. Come and join us. We’re broken, hurting people who are finding real and true life in Jesus Christ!

What denomination are you?

Real Life is Nazarene, but we want to encourage you to not worry about denominational divides. If we had a motto (okay, a second motto), it might be “relationships, not religion.” We wish to see conflict between denominations become a thing of the past, because when you get to the heart of it, worship is for God and His glory, and the name under which that worship is done shouldn’t matter. So don’t worry if you come from a particular tradition – you’ll feel at home no matter what.
